What is up with my "friends with benefits"?

Im sleeping with this guy who im suppose to be "friends with benefits" with. Why does he text me every morning and throughout the day if we are just sleeping together? he calls me on his way home from work and sometimes checks in on me at night. Does this sound odd or is this normal for FWB?
