What else can I do, is something wrong with my son?

Okay its almost a month into the new school year, my son is 6 years old and in first grade. He has been misbehaving at school EVERYDAY! He has only had three good days since the first day of school. Most of the problems are him not following directions and not doing his work. My son gets exceptional grades and follows directions at home well. Ive talked to him and he says that one he doesn't like doing what the teachers tell him to do and two he forgets to follow the rules... i dont understand how he could forget, he started crying when telling me that he didnt remember to pay attention. My husband and I have done everything we talk to him about his behaviour EVERYDAY, we pray with him before school and pray for him when he is at school, we have ed him, we have put him in time, we have taken priveleges away and he continues to not follow directions and misbehave while at school.. i dont know what else to do.. It is a new school in a new town that he is attending but I dont think he would act out this much just because he is the new kid. My husband and I are at our wits end with them we love him so much and he is so smart and we just want him to succeed but hes not acting at his best.
