Should someone who has PCOS?

Should someone who has PCOS have a gastric byp? I wasn't diagnosed until last May and have been suffering for 23 years. I am currently 200 pounds overweight & feel extremely oppressed & worn out at the prospect of trying to loose 200 pounds on my own. Any suggestions? Please keep them kind, NOT having a good day.
