Why do you people always get this wrong...?

I've found that, particularly in people that do not accept evolution, but even in people that do, there exists the erroneous notion that we are direct descendants of monkeys. It disgusts me that people who profess to be knowledgeable about, or at least be in acceptance of evolution could show such ignorance on the subject.
